Support for Waverley’s businesses during lockdown 3

On 5 January, the Chancellor announced a new £4.6b funding package, aimed at supporting businesses through the latest COVID restrictions.

New grant schemes were announced, which will be directly administered by the council, including:

  • A one-off top up grant for eligible retail, hospitality and leisure businesses worth up to £9,000 per property, that will be available in addition to other Local Restriction Support Grants.

  • An additional £594m in discretionary funding for local authorities to support other impacted businesses.

Currently, WBC is awaiting detailed information and confirmation on funding and eligibility criteria for these schemes from the Government and expect to receive this by the end of next week..
