Waverley residents struggling financially from the impact of COVID-19 can take advantage of new Government funding this winter that has been designed to support the recovery from the pandemic and offer help where it is needed most.
The Household Support Fund was announced by the Government in late autumn to support vulnerable households and is designed to help ease financial pressures on residents by providing short-term help over the winter period with food and fuel bills as well as other essentials. Waverley Borough Council has been given £243,000 to provide assistance to individuals and families who are:
facing immediate financial difficulties
a household living in Waverley
struggling to pay essential household bills
Applications are open until 31 March 2022 or until all funds have been allocated, whichever is the earlier.
