A summer of exploration and sports for young people in Waverley!

Looking to get your kids out and about this summer? Want to explore more of Waverley’s amazing green spaces for fun with the whole family or help your children learn new skills?

Waverley Borough Council has got you covered this August, with some fantastic activities and clubs for children and young people to enjoy for an affordable price or completely free!

First up, we have Skate Waverley; an exciting opportunity for young people to get free skateboard coaching from the professionals at King Ramps where young people between the ages of 6 and 16 can register for a free two-hour coaching session that suits their current abilities. Safety equipment and skateboards will be provided free for use on the day at a variety of locations within the borough. To find out dates of upcoming events or to register, visit: Waverley Borough Council - Skate Waverley

Then we have Xplorer; a fun, free, family-friendly navigation challenge that gives children a sense of adventure as they explore the park to find markers. It involves a healthy mix of physical activity and decision making that the whole family can enjoy together. Using a simple map, the aim is to find a number of markers that are located around the park. At each marker, children need to identify what is pictured and enjoy learning a fun fact to tell their friends. In order to participate in these activities, you must register using the links provided.

Lastly, we’ve got the Friday Night Project which provides a weekly youth club every Friday for 11-18 year olds based within Farnham and Cranleigh local leisure centres hosting a bunch of sporting activities from Football to Table Tennis and many more. The project gives young people access to a range of activities for just £2-£4. For more information visit: Waverley Borough Council - The Friday Night Project
